This autumn, the UK Poker Series will host what may be the most significant women’s event in poker – a High Roller tournament exclusively for women.
The Hippodrome casino in London is set to surprise participants with the autumn PokerStars Women’s Winter Festival, which has already attracted attention thanks to the Main Event with a guaranteed prize pool of £400 (£100K GTD). But now, female poker players have a unique opportunity to make their mark: for the first time, the series will feature a High Roller tournament exclusively for women. This will be more than just another competition – it will be the first event of its kind on the poker room platform, where participants will have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills at a high level.
The entry fee for the Women’s High Roller Tournament will be £1,100 (approximately $1,434). This amount is slightly higher than in previous events, where the buy-in was at $1,000, which emphasizes the high status and exclusivity of this tournament.
The event is expected to feature some of the world’s top female poker players, including Marl Spragg, Jen Shahade, and Maria Lampropulos, vying for the prestigious title. The tournament will kick off the festival, which runs from November 21-24.
“The Women’s Winter Festival is not only a competition, but also an opportunity for women to develop their skills and become more involved in poker,” said Kerry Jane Craigie, Director of Poker at the Hippodrome and PokerStars Ambassador. “Adding a High Roller to the festival program adds variety and appeal to players, giving them access to games they’ve been wanting to try for a long time.”
For those looking to take part in the Women’s Winter Festival Main Event, online qualifiers, including freebuy tournaments, are now available. There will also be a £40 buy-in live qualifier on November 21st, with five additional places up for grabs.
